INTERNAL VOICE

Our minds imagine pictures and play out scenarios as if it were creating a video, our internal voices guiding and criticizing us as we go. An internal voice is a voice inside our mind that comments on our experiences and runs in the background of our thoughts.
These internal voices, whether vivid or subtle, are often translated by artists into their work and shared with the world. This group, consisting of Korean and Canadian artists from various diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, express these thoughts by adopting them in their own ways and conveying them to the audience. From traditional Korean paper paintings to mixed media, each artistic expression provides a glimpse into the universal human experience of self-reflection and discovery. Through a fusion of Korean and Canadian influences, this exhibition explores how identity is shaped by cultural exchange, deepening our understanding of cross-border connections and leading a collective search for identity.
